Aus der Abteilung »Totgeglaubte leben länger«: Ich sitze da vor meinem TextMate, ahne nichts Böses und auf einmal meldet sich die automatische Update-Funktion und kündigt mir selbiges an. Ich war so perplex — das letzte Update gab es im März 2011 –, daß ich es ohne zu prüfen durchführte. Es war nichts Weltbewegendes, die Release Notes (Version 1.5.11 rv. 1635) sagten
TextMate is now signed with an Apple issued developer ID (for Gatekeeper compatibility)
aber es war ein Zeichen, daß TextMate noch lebt (ich hatte schon nicht mehr daran geglaubt). Wenn es jetzt irgendwann einmal das schon lange versprochene und angekündigte TextMate 2 geben würde …

Ja, Sublime Text2 nutze ich mittlerweile neben Eclipse als einzigen Code Editor.
Ist ein fantastisches Werkzezug.
Ja, Sublime Text 2 sieht gut aus. Aber solange Matt Neuburg RubyFrontier nicht als Sublime Text 2 Tool vertreibt, bin ich an TextMate gebunden.
Textmate 2 Alpha ist IMHO gut benutzbar. Einfach die o.g. Version herunterladen und das eingebaute Update versorgt einen regelmeaszig mit aktuellen builds.
