Ich habe zur Zeit eine Sony HDR-TG3E im Test. Den Import von Photos aus dieser Kamera habe ich hinbekommen (auch wenn es nicht ganz benutzerfreundlich war), die Videos zeigt aber der gemountete Stick nicht an, obwohl ich laut Sony-Handbuch dort auch MPEGs finden sollte. Aber das Handbuch ist so etwas von Windoofs-zentriert, da findet man so gut wie nichts über die Zusammenarbeit dieser Kamera mit MacOS X. Falls jemand von Euch etwas weiß, bitte ich um Tips in meinen Kommentaren, ansonsten gebe ich die Kamera als untauglich zurück.

da ich kein Profi bin, kann ich auch nur raten. Vielleicht suchst Du nach *.mp4 oder Ähnlichem. Bei AVCHD sind es aber *.mts-Files.

Die *.mts- Files nutze ich zwar schon länger mit XBMC, VLC und co. Nun durch Deine Frage angeregt, habe ich mal nach einer Erklärung gesucht und bei http://fideocam.wordpress.com/ gefunden:

The .MTS files are the video payload. The file is a MPEG2 transport stream file wrapper with H.264 encoded video and AC-3 audio. It seems .VPL, .BDM and .MPL files bundle the clips into shoots and contents of the SD. Unfortunately these bundling files can (and do) corrupt due to unknown reasons (battery running out, but also something more random). Consequently all files will not get uploaded to computer when you get home. The files with .CPI extension seem to be file metadata for similarly named .MTS files.

ein freund von mir hatte ähnliche probleme mit einer sony, war allerdings eine SD->DV kamera. egal was er versuchte, video ging letztendlich nur über firewire, während bilder auch über USB gingen.
aber laut diesem fred http://www.avforums.com/forums/camcorders-video-editing/1060874-sony-hdr-tg3e-tg3-mac-connectivity.html sollte es mit iMovie 09 gehen.
